Jannik Richard

Jannik Richard (b. 1996, Cologne), is a German artist currently living and working in Berlin.

As a 2023 UdK graduate, he works in analog identity manipulation through painting, sculpture, and installation. His compositions evoke disorientation with deliberate folds and distortions, drawing inspiration from Greek mythology and contemporary culture. Richard explores motifs of pleasure and natural needs, challenging viewers with the conflicts these impulses pose. His paintings abstract familiar subjects, creating new characters that interact with his fictional narratives, guided by art history and his own creative process.
